PADDLESAFE - an Online Child Protection Course

This course provides a basic level of awareness and training to help safeguard children and young people within sport. It also explains best practice and what to do if you have a concern regarding child protection.

Should you have any specific questions or concerns that are not covered in the course you should contact the BCU Child Protection Officer (or your own NGB Child Protection Officer), if the matter is urgent, your local police or Social Services Child Protection Team.

This BCU initiated course has been developed to support coaches, officials and volunteers working or involved in our sport to help individuals meet the minimum training requirement for Child Protection.

Funding from Sport England has enabled the BCU to subsidise the cost of the course but you will need to make a small payment via credit card.

This course will help you as an adult understand what is and what is not appropriate when either coaching or coming into contact with children, safeguarding both the child and yourself.

The following steps will need to be taken:

2. Purchase course via PayPal (you can make your purchase by Paypal or Credit Card - once you have made payment click 'Pay Now' and the next screen will then automatically return you to the course)
3. Register as a new user
4. Create your course User account
5. Undertake the course
6. Obtain your certificate (Valid for 3 years)
7. You have 3 months from payment to complete the course
